Notice of Public Hearing June 21, 2018, 2:30pm - Proposed Changes to Environmental Health Fees

The Jefferson County Board of Health has called for a public hearing on adoption of revisions to the Jefferson County Environmental Health Fee Schedule.

The hearing will be held during the Board’s monthly meeting on Thursday, June 21st, 2018, at 2:30 PM at the Jefferson County Public Health building, 615 Sheridan St., Port Townsend, WA 98368.

This Fee Schedule, if adopted, will amend the current fee schedule with the following changes to the Case Scanning/Technology Fee:

Rename the fee to: “Technology Fee”
Change the fee to a 5% surcharge on all Environmental Health fees

The proposed changes are needed to provide ongoing revenue to pay for the maintenance and operation of a new permit database that will serve the departments of Public Health, Community Development, and Public Works.  This new database is expected to increase efficiencies in the county’s permit review process and make the process more visible to the general public.
