Clean Water Projects

Jefferson County's Clean Water Projects provide regular monitoring of bays, streams and rivers to assure they are not contaminated with non-point source pollution such as fecal coliform bacteria.

Data collected through these projects are analyzed and long-term trends are assessed. Problem areas are identified and addressed to correct failing septic systems and agricultural practices that degrade surface water quality. For project results jump to Reports, below.
