Chimacum Prevention Coalition in Partnership with Jefferson County Library and Port Townsend Film Festival to Host Film "Drawing the Tiger with Director Amy Benson

Port Townsend, WA –  The public is invited Monday, April 10, 5:30 – 8:00, at the Jefferson County Library, to a screening and discussion, led by film director Amy Benson, of the film Drawing the Tiger, which is a featured film in the PTFF Women and Film weekend. This presentation is sponsored by the Chimacum Prevention Coalition (CPD), the Jefferson County Library, the Port Townsend Film Festival (PTFF), and the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery.

Second EnviroStar Business Certified in Port Ludlow

Port Townsend, WA – Jefferson County Environmental Health is excited to announce that Port Ludlow Dentistry is our second business in Port Ludlow to qualify for the EnviroStars program, coming in at the 4-star level!  They join Port Ludlow Marina who is both an EnviroStar and a Clean Marina Washington.  The mission of EnviroStars is to provide assistance and incentives for smaller businesses to reduce hazardous materials and waste in order to protect public health, municipal systems, and the environment.

Anderson Lake at Caution Level

Port Townsend – A toxic bluegreen algae bloom that has kept Anderson Lake closed since early April has begun to dissipate. Samples taken on Monday, November 7 showed that toxins have declined to below safe limits set by the Washington Department of Health. Anderson Lake State Park has removed the closure and posted the lake with Caution signs. The park is closed for the season, so access is on foot only with limited parking near the entrance.
