NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Jefferson County Planning Commission has an open position in District #2 due to an incumbent’s resignation. The remaining term begins as soon as filled and will expire in March of 2023 with the possibility of an additional term. District #2 includes eastern Discovery Bay, Tri-Area, Marrowstone Island, northern Oak Bay, and south along Center Road to Highway 104. A district map is available online at the website given below.
The Planning Commission assists the Department of Community Development and prepares recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. The group provides a forum for public review of land use and planning such as the Comprehensive Plan, zoning designations, policies, and regulations that guide development activities around the county. The group does not review project-specific permits.
Meetings are typically held the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 5:30 pm. Currently video meetings are the chosen meeting platform until the COVID-19 public health emergency is declared over or there is a state directive allowing in-person meeting to resume.
