The Planning Commission assists the Department of Community Development and prepares advisory recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. The group provides a forum for public review of land use and planning policy proposals such as the Comprehensive Plan, zoning designations, policies and regulations that guide development activities around the county. The group does not review project- specific permits. Recent efforts have addressed these local issues:

  • Emergency Housing Ordinance
  • Port Hadlock Sewer Plan
  • Hospitality Establishments
  • Lots of Record

Meetings are typically held the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 5:30 pm, virtually or in the Tri-Area Community Center located at 10 W. Valley Road, Chimacum.

STIPEND: Planning Commissioners are compensated at the rate of $50 per regular meeting.
