NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Jefferson County Planning Commission has two expiring positions, one in District #1 and one in District #3. The incumbents for both districts have officially indicated their interest in being reappointed. Both have terms that begin in March 2020 and expire in March 2024. District #1 includes the Port Townsend area. District #3 extends from southern Oak Bay to South County and the West End. A district map is available online at the website given below.
The Planning Commission assists the Department of Community Development and prepares recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. The group provides a forum for public review of land use and planning such as the Comprehensive Plan, zoning designations, policies, and regulations that guide development activities around the county. The group does not review project-specific permits.
Meetings are typically held the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 5:30 pm in the Jefferson Transit Authority Board Room located at 63 Four Corners Road, Port Townsend.
