Breastfeeding education and support is available to all Jefferson County women. Individual education and support is offered during pregnancy and after a baby's birth to encourage and facilitate successful breastfeeding.
The Mom's Tea
The Mom's Tea is a weekly gathering for pregnant women and moms of infants and young children. It is held weekly on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH).
Talk with other women about being a new mom, feeding your baby, parenting, and life with a baby. A certified lactation consultant is present to answer questions about breastfeeding.
All pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women and their babies/children are welcome.
WIC Nutrition Program
Breastfeeding women enrolled in the WIC nutrition program may be eligible for additional nutritious foods, electric manual breast pumps, and the loan of hospital-grade electric breast pumps.
Additional support is available from Public Health Dietitians, public health nurses or health educators.
