Empowered Teens Coalition

The Empowered Teens Coalition (ETC) is a volunteer prevention advocacy organization that brings parents, schools, agencies, community groups, and community members together to work on preventing youth substance use and abuse in the geographic area specific to the Chimacum School District. ETC works in collaboration with the Chimacum School District, Olympic Educational Service District 114, and Jefferson County Public Health. Founded in the fall of 2013, ETC is governed by citizen volunteers and representatives from local agencies.

Listen 2 Your Selfie

Did you know that, according to the 2014 statewide Healthy Youth Survey, 1 in 5 Washington 10th graders reported using marijuana in the past 30 days? Marijuana can change the way a teen's mind and body perform, affecting memory, learning, mood, motivation, coordination, and judgment.

Check out the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) statewide campaign, Listen 2 Your Selfie, to see how our youth can have some fun promoting themselves as "youth who choose not to abuse alcohol and other drugs" and use Facebook and Instagram to do it.
