JEFFERSON COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH TO RENAME
ITS ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION AND
RE-OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON FRIDAYS, 9:00AM – 1:00PM, BEGINNING FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2018
Port Townsend – To improve service to the community, Jefferson County Environmental Health is excited to announce that we have decided to re-open our doors to the public on Fridays (9:00am - 1:00pm) effective Friday, October 5, 2018. Our Monday – Thursday schedule will remain the same, 9:00am to 4:30pm.
Staff will be available for in person consultation, on a first come first serve basis, between 9:00am and 10:30am, Monday – Friday.
We are also excited to reveal our decision to change the name of our division to Environmental Public Health. Since our Food Safety, Onsite Sewage, Drinking Water, Solid & Hazardous Waste, Water Recreation, and Water Quality Programs are all designed to prevent illness, Environmental Public Health better describes our role in accomplishing the mission of the Jefferson County Public Health Department, which is to:
“Protect the health of Jefferson County residents
by promoting healthy communities and environments”
The Department of Community Development will remain closed to the public on Fridays for the time being, so their staff will not be available for consultation on Fridays.
