Access to Dental Care - Smile Mobile Comes to Port Townsend

Port Townsend, WA – Jefferson County Public Health is hosting the Smile Mobile – a full service mobile dental clinic serving children, teens, and pregnant/post-partum women. Services provided by the Smile Mobile may include: exams, x-rays, cleaning, fillings and simple extractions. The Smile Mobile accepts Medicaid (Apple Health, Provider One) and people with limited or no dental insurance coverage. It is operated by The Arcora Foundation in partnership with Delta Dental of WA. and Seattle Children’s Hospital.

According to the 2014 Jefferson County Community Health Assessment, just over 1 in 2 Jefferson County adults has dental insurance coverage compared to nearly 2 in 3 adults in Washington State. Rates are lower among females, older adults and adults with lower incomes. Jefferson County is designated as a dental care shortage area, especially for low income residents.

The Smile Mobile visited Brinnon last week, reaching Jefferson County residents farthest from affordable dental care options.  The Smile Mobile is parked at Jefferson County Public Health. Call now for appointments in Port Townsend 1-888-286-9105.
