[ARCHIVED] Planning Commission Vacancy

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Jefferson County Planning Commission has two expiring positions, one in District #1 and one in District #2. The incumbent for District 1 has officially indicated their interest in being reappointed. Both have terms begin in March 2019 and expire in March 2023. District #1 includes the Port Townsend area. District #2 includes eastern Discovery Bay, Tri-Area, Marrowstone Island, northern Oak Bay, and south along Center Road to Highway 104.

The Planning Commission assists the Department of Community Development and prepares recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. The group provides a forum for public review of land use and planning such as the Comprehensive Plan, zoning designations, policies, and regulations that guide development activities around the county. The group does not review project-specific permits.

Meetings are typically held the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 5:30 pm in the Tri-Area Community Center located at 10 W. Valley Road, Chimacum.

TO APPLY: Submit a completed online Volunteer Application, which can be found here: https://www.co.jefferson.wa.us/formcenter/dcd-11/jefferson-county-planning-commission-app-71. This announcement closes Friday, March 15th. Review of applications will begin immediately thereafter.
