Initially, the WA State Governor delayed the adoption of all of the new 2018 Building Codes from July 1, 2020, until November 1, 2020 because of the COVID-19 situation. Subsequently, at a Special Council meeting on June 26, 2020, the Washington State Building Code Council voted to extend the effective date to February 1, 2021.
