Transfer Station Pit Scale Replacement

Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, State of Washington, will receive sealed bids until 9:30 a.m. on June 13, 2022 June 21, 2022 at the Office of the County Commissioners, basement level of the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, P.O. Box 1220, Port Townsend, Washington, 98368, for replacement of pit scales at the County’s Transfer Station, County Project No.40121060. Sealed bids will be opened and read publicly at 10:30 11:30 a.m., or shortly thereafter, on the same day in the Jefferson County Commissioners Chambers, basement level of the Jefferson County Courthouse. This contract provides for replacement of the pit scales at the Jefferson County Transfer Station located at 325 County Landfill Rd., Jefferson County, WA which is close to the City of Port Townsend. Work includes the removal of the existing scales, provision and installation of new scales and weight displays, and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications. The Engineers Estimate is $257,511.00.
Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a pre-bid virtual meeting to review bid specifications and request clarifications or additional information. The County will send a pre-bid meeting invitation to all plan holders.
Bids shall be submitted in accordance with the plans and specifications on file at the Department of Public Works, 623 Sheridan Street, Port Townsend, Washington, where copies may be obtained by prospective bidders. Hard copies and/or electronic copies may also be obtained by emailing or by calling (360) 385-9160.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a surety bond, postal money order, cash, cashier’s check or certified check payable to the Treasurer of Jefferson County in the sum of five (5%) percent of the bid amount, to be forfeited to Jefferson County by the successful bidder if he/she fails to enter into a contract and file an acceptable surety bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price within ten (10) days of the award. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to accept the bid deemed most advantageous to Jefferson County, and to waive all informalities in the bidding.
The Jefferson County Public Works in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252.42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
